Nelly Custis Park Scoping

August 18, 2015 |
In an effort to move our community to a conscious on Nelly Custis park project, Arlington County will be holding two info meetings with feedback.  There is a a lot of misinformation out there regarding this project therefore, we will proceed as follows:

1. Nelly Custis Information Meeting Wednesday, Sept 16 from 7-8:30 at the community center.  At this meeting the county will present the items that will be considered nonnegotiable items for the park.  The remaining items will be discussed in an effort to eliminate all misinformation that had circulated about this project.  Once all items have been presented, the county will hear any concerns or comments that the residents have with the scoped items.

2.  The second meeting will be Wednesday, Sept 30 from 7-8:30 at the community center.  The purpose of this meeting will be for the county to present solutions to address the concerns that have been expressed in the prior meeting.

The scoping of Nelly Custis park is an effort to enhance our community to serve the residents of Aurora Highlands.  Unfortunately, a lot of bad information has been circulating and these meetings are an effort for the community to voice their concerns in a respectful and productive manner so would like to move this project forward at the next NC Funding meeting.

In the coming weeks, Arlington County will get the Nelly Custis website stood up and add information, discuss the purpose and results of the survey in an effort to provide the community with the facts.  Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
