Information About the CostCo Parking Lot Project
The major elements of the redevelopment of the CostCo site (as it is commonly known) were approved in 2008. The developer has been working to finalize plans for Phase 1 (of 3) and the work on the parking garage is the very first step in the overall plan. The contractor is doing basic underground work for the foundation and utilities from May to September 2015. The lot should be “restored” to usable for the October to December period and then full construction of the deck will be done from January to October 2016.
I am sure that there will be some pains druing this first part as people figure out parking and traffic patterns and the contractor gets set up. To date, the developer has been very open and cooperative. The document attached here includes contact names and numbers for a number of representatives from the developer and the contractor. If there are any problems (with things like noise, trash, rubble in the streets, etc), please contact one of the representatives and see if they can take care of it. If they do not adequately address an issue, do not hesitate to let Jim Oliver know and he will follow up with the developer and the county as necessary.
