Puzzled by flashing electronic signs warning about closing lanes about June 22?

You may have noticed several flashing electronic signs on 18^th St, 15^th St, and Eads Street recently. The signs indicate that something will be happening about June 22, but no details are provided. These flashing signs are warning us about upcoming construction for the Crystal City Multimodal Center on 18^th Street between South Eads and either South Clark or South Bell. Four bus bays will be built on 18^th Street under Route One to accommodate shuttle buses that currently use Crystal Drive. Improved sidewalks, bus shelters, and lighting are also part of the Phase 1 of this project. During Phase 2, the intersection of 18^th Street and South Bell will be reconfigured and enhanced so that traffic can flow in both directions on Bell between 18^th and 15^th Street.
