Sunshine Gang

The Sunshine Gang, managed by rhythm guitarist Jim Klein with Musical Director Keith Fagan,  brings together talented musicians and singers who inspire each other and entertain audiences by “finding the fun” in making music.  Our repertoire is drawn largely from classic 1960’s – 1980’s rock & roll.  We are the official Walter Reed 55+ Community Center house band and offer free concerts for our community.  If you like the Beatles, Elvis, Gordon Lightfoot, Stevie Wonder, Doobie Brothers and the likes, you’ll love our show and we’ll love playing for you!

Jim Sheats – One Man Band

Jim Sheats is a local musician and in the travel and tourism industry. He is a longtime Arlington resident but grew up in Athens, Ga and graduated from the University of Georgia (a long time ago)! He paid his way through college playing in soul/rock bands opening for such groups as The Allman Brothers, Johnny Maestro and the Brooklyn Bridge, Arthur Conley (Sweet Soul Music), James Brown’s Soul City, Universal Studios Blues Brothers, and more clubs, fraternity and sorority houses than he can remember!  He is back on the local circuit based out of Arlington, VA with his “One Man Band”, playing blues, funk, jazz, rock, reggae and country – all instrumentals with full backing tracks.

Locally, he has played at Clare & Don’s Beach Shack, The Island Time Bar and Grill at Columbia Island Marina, Washington Sailing Marina, McNamara’s Pub and Restaurant, The Army Navy Club, The Little Theater – Old Town, Alexandria Native Plant Festival,, many private events and travel industry events, as well as volunteer events with AFAC, Music Mends and The Sustainable Scoop.

Carter Farm Band

We are a local band that’s been playing country rock for more than 12 years now, in bars, restaurants, festivals, etc. all around the DMV. We have a very fun eclectic mix of covers and some originals. Everything from classic honky tonk to the Byrds to Waylon Jennings to Fleetwood Mac. There are six of us, total, from Arlington, Alexandria and (slightly) beyond.

Ardmore

Named for towns in both Ireland and Scotland, ARDMORE blends traditional Celtic melodies with folk, bluegrass and rock influences. ARDMORE brings together four engaging musicians with experience playing throughout the mid-Atlantic region and beyond: Amy Rogers Nazarov (vocals, guitar), Don Walters (vocals, mandolin), Eric McCleaf (guitar), and Matthew Dunne (bass).

Type of music:  traditional Celtic along with folk, bluegrass & rock

Bella and Waylon, the Lonesome Bluegrass Band

Bella and Waylon, the lonesome bluegrass band, got their start at the Columbia Pike Farmers’ Market, serenading shoppers and farmers. The band is named after two N.C. rescue dogs – Bella, a black mutt, and Waylon, a Plotthound. (The pups dominate the band’s Instagram feed.) Playing in the band are Rebecca Krafft (banjo), Liz Merkhofer (fiddle), Valeria Stewart (guitar), John Sargent (mandolin), Steve Barrett (doghouse bass) and Mac Squier (dobro).
