Follow-up letter to school board chair

February 12, 2016 |

After the AHCA meeting, the AHCA president Natasha Atkins sent a cover email to Dr. Violand, which included Rob Sidman’s letter to her and the joint AHCA-ARCA-CCCA letter regarding siting of a new elementary school in the general Pentagon City area, originally sent to the County Board and School Board 4 months ago. These letters are available here and here and will be available online in the documents area along with all other similar AHCA documents.

The school board chair’s email response follows:

Dear Ms. Atkins,
Thank you very much for your invitation to the AHCA meeting last night. It was an excellent opportunity for me to learn and discuss issues of importance in your neighborhood including the CIP process and your concerns about over crowing at Oakridge.
As stated in the meeting I apologize for not responding personally to the letter sent to the School Board. I will ask the Superintendent to schedule a meeting in your neighborhood to seek input from AHCA and other civic associations regarding SAWG recommendations before April 1st.
I will call Libby Garvey and discuss at our leadership meeting your request to address your recommendations included in your letter sent to both Boards on October 16, 2015.
I look forward to our ongoing communication.
Sincerely,
Emma
