Join us for our next monthly meeting, Wednesday, November 13 at 7 p.m, Aurora Hills Community Center. On the agenda:

Come hear about transportation projects in our area and the county’s plan to collect transportation data and model future needs from staff from Arlington County Department of Environmental Services.

County Board member Matt de Ferranti will also be present until 7:40 to hear your transportation concerns and possibly answer a few questions on county policy.

We’ll also hear about the Livability Action Plan, the latest outcome of the Livability22202 initiative.

Additional meeting items: Census 2020, officer elections.

Come Early, at 6:30 PM to meet local high school teens as they present a solution to single-use take containers in and around National Landing that they’ll be taking to the EPA for the National Recycling
Innovation Fair.

The Crystal City BID will talk about their expansion into our neighborhood and changes anticipated with buisness, community events, and area branding. Finally, Matt Mattauszek from the County Housing and Planning Division as been appointed the planning coordinator for the 22202 area. Find out about his role and ask questions about how the County is planning to manage housing and development in our area.

The Department of Parks & Recreation will provide a brief update on the demolition and replanting work planned for the 20th & Ives lot.

Managing Arlington’s Environmental, Energy, and Recycling Challenges: We’ll have Demetra McBride from the county’s Office of Sustainability and Environmental Management and Neil Seldman from the Waste to Wealth Initiative at the Institute for Local Self-Reliance (ILSR) to talk about county and private initiatives to respond to climate change, manage stormwater, promote green building and energy efficiency, and deal with the nationwide recycling crisis.

First Amazon development plans published for Met Park

First Amazon development plans published for Met Park
