Crystal Substation Construction Update – Nov. 9, 2021

At Dominion Energy, we would like to provide an important update on the Crystal Substation Improvement and Expansion Project.

Beginning the week of Nov. 15, 2021, our crews will begin decommissioning the existing plaza area of the substation property. For the safety of our team and the community, this area will be barricaded by a temporary construction fence, which will extend around the existing parking spots, median and right turn lane. We expect this work to be completed in early December 2021. The plaza area decommissioning is necessary for the new green space area, which is scheduled to begin construction in 2022. The attached Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) plan will be in place while this work is underway.
