You may have noticed a lot of cool things happening at Virginia Highlands Park this summer. Well, they are continuing through August – see the current events flyer.
These are all volunteer-led activities that can be done safely and socially distanced. If you have an activity that you would like to organize, and that can be done safely in the open field space in the west side of Virginia Highlands Park, please contact info@aurorahighlands.org.
AHCA, ARCA, And CCCA are hosting a joint meeting to provide a progress report and future outlook on the Livability 22202 work.
The Housing and Open Space working groups will be presenting findings and recommendations, and the Route 1 and Underground working groups that are still getting started will share initial goals.
These efforts are being taken very seriously by the County and other stakeholders, and could have a great influence on how our area develops. So it’s important to hear the consensus ideas we’ve come together on, provide your own input, and show your support.
Join us July 8 to learn about Arlington Community Emergency Response Team opportunities, assisting neighbors in the Arlington Community Corp, and preliminary details on the electrical substation expansion on Hayes St.

Join us Wed, June 10 to find out, and read the newsletter for more updates on the Underground Challenge, Free Trees, Music & Art in the Park, Trash Collection, Census, Elections, and inviting teens to action for the environment.
Volunteers have created a temporary, impromptu art display that uses rainbow colors in heart symbols to honor the front-line workers and our community who continue to fight the pandemic. The hearts are placed at approximately 12ft apart allowing for people to sit and enjoy their own space while others can walk in between the hearts. Temporary, chalk-based paint was used to create the social distancing hearts painted on the ground.
Arlington’s parks are now (mostly) open! Enjoy this weekend at Virginia Highlands Park with your social distancing activities like kites, painting, picnics, reading, etc. Monday afternoon 11-4pm there will be two food trucks at 15th & Joyce near the large open fields to help satisfy your appetite for food, fresh air, and nature.

Aurora Highlands Civic Association represents the residents of Pentagon City and surrounding subdivisions of Addison Heights, Aurora Hills, and Virginia Highlands. Aurora Highlands is a residential neighborhood in Arlington, Virginia, 22202 established in 1910.
OUR MEETINGS are held the second Wednesday of the month at the Aurora Hills Community Center at 735 18th Street S Arlington, VA 22202 @ 7:00 p.m.
